Home Decor with You're Inspiring Stamps

I made this for my wonderful Mum for Mothering Sunday, but didn't share on my blog before as she visits my blog, but not social media so I was safe sharing there.

She was absolutely delighted with it I'm pleased to say and in particular because long time ago when I was a small girl I would bring a Daffodil home from Sunday School for Mothering Sunday. She tells my kids the story every year and they say 'Yes Nan, you told us!!' .  Like me, Mum loves spring flowers and in the UK nothing is more iconic that the Daffodil.  Here in Lincolnshire they are grown for the bulbs for the following season, but also for the supermarkets.  We often drive by the fields and see them being picked ready to be shipped out.

For my home decor piece I used Stampin' Up! You're Inspiring set which is full of lovely Daffs and nice sentiments.  However I created the Mother using the eclipse technique and the large letter dies and the amazing is from Celebrate You thinlet dies that you can until the end of March get free with a qualifying order.

You'll find it easier to stamp the mother section first before die cutting the letters. I used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to colour the flowers so stamped them on thick white card and in memento black ink.  The bottom trio were done in the same way, but I used different colours as Daffodils aren't always just plan yellow.  I added fussy cut butterflies which were taken from the Blossoming Basket stamp set another promotional freebie and added them with dimensionals or glue dots.  They are great for hiding those occasional mistakes one makes!!! Oops yes a finger smudge no less.

The frame is from IKEA and is a 9" x 9" deep one, but you could go for bigger to create a more impacting piece.  For demonstrators where Mother's Day is celebrated later in the year, this would make a fabulous class.  It's very therapeutic and easy to do. Of course you don't have to do for Mother's day you could turn it into an Easter home decor piece or something completely different lol.

Thanks for checking it out and do come by again soon.

Zoe xx
